Upload an image by dragging it into the upload area or clicking to browse. Three sliders appear: Brightness (0% to 200%), Contrast (0% to 200%), and Saturation (0% to 200%), where 100% is the original value. Drag any slider to adjust the corresponding property - the preview updates in real-time. Use the preset buttons for one-click adjustments: 'Brighten' increases brightness, 'Darken' reduces it, 'High Contrast' boosts contrast, 'Vintage' creates a warm desaturated look, and 'Vivid' enhances saturation and contrast. This tool uses CSS filter functions applied through the Canvas 2D context's filter property. Brightness is a multiplier where 1.0 is normal (mapped from the -100 to +100 slider range). Contrast uses a similar multiplier that adjusts the difference between light and dark tones. Saturation controls color intensity where 0 is fully desaturated (grayscale) and values above 1.0 are oversaturated. These filters are applied using GPU-accelerated rendering through the browser's compositing engine, enabling real-time preview even for high-resolution images.
Brightness shifts all pixel values up or down uniformly - increasing it makes the entire image lighter. Contrast adjusts the difference between light and dark areas - increasing it makes lights lighter and darks darker, creating a more dramatic image.
Start by increasing Brightness to +20 to +40 to lift the overall exposure. Then increase Contrast by +10 to +20 to restore definition that may be lost with brightness alone. Fine-tune Saturation if the colors look washed out.
The Vintage preset slightly decreases saturation and adjusts brightness and contrast to create a warm, faded look reminiscent of old photographs. You can further customize the effect by adjusting the individual sliders after applying the preset.
